Anonymous -- To me, movies like National Treasure are like Twinkies, a sweet treat that isn't filling or good for you. Some people love Twinkies, I don't.
The best thing about this National Treasure movie is Helen Mirren, but I still don't want to plunk down between $7 a $12 to see it in the theater.
Sweeney Todd on the other hand is based on a play that I adore, directed by a man who always makes things look beautiful, and starring a spectacular cast. Now that's filling.
Because Ticknart, you were born to suffer. I myself would rather see National Treasure than Sweeney Todd although I will watch both at home. My next movie -AT the movies - will be I Am Legend. This Wednesday at the Movie Tavern. woo hoo!
I would have to say that after watching the first National Treasure, I was more interested in our history than before I watched that movie. Now don't get me wrong, Sweeney Todd looks great and I plan to see that here, in Cowtown, with my friends. I don't see movies (in the theater) often anymore so I will probably watch NT2 when it comes out next year on dvd just because it will be one of those feel good movies.
Wow. Shocker!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... or NOT.
That's one I'd get a babysitter for...
It's the must see movie this Christmas. DAMMIT!
ReplyDeleteI need to get my Sweeney Todd on and I don't want to wait!
Stupid Cowtown and its stupid National Treasure!
I may just have to take a trip into The Valley this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else up for the trip?
Whats wrong with National Treasure? I think that one looks pretty good, just as the first one was.
