What's It Called When You Feel Proud and a Little Ashamed?

So, I wasn't ever planning on ever talking about this here, but, uh, well, I've been nominated for a 2009 Daria Fanworks Award. I only wrote one (complete) story and it was nominated in five categories. Wow.

So, if you want to read it, go here.

I think I'll be jittery all day long.

  3. Okay, so, this is for everyone, is the good stuff for just being nominated (which is, of course, an honor), or is it also for a pretty okay story?

  6. Thank, Wings.

And AE, you may feel proud for as long as you like, but I'd still like to know if the story is okay by the standards of folks not obsessed with the TV show.

  8. I read that story last night while at work, it was very good and kept me interested until the end when I ran out of text to read. Was this story in relation to a tv show or were you just meaning people obsessed with TV in general?

  9. Thanks, Choochoo. And if I forgot all the little people, then who would I try not to stare at in public? (Other than massive cleavage, but cleavage isn't a person, is it.

Matt -- It's totally in relation to the show Daria. At least that's where most of the characters come from.

  10. Also, I was half heatedly attempting to make it accessible to people who hadn't seen the show or at least didn't know much about it. And if you thought it was okay and didn't know what show it was based around then I must have sort of succeeded.

  11. You did a great job. The only thing is that the hardest part of making boxer shorts would be the elastic for the waistband. But back to the story, I really liked it and liked your perspective on personal growth.

  12. Thanks, Geewits, that means a lot.

Also, if I ever do a better edit, I will take your advice and make the elastic hard to work with. I wasn't sure what would be harder, having never sewn anything, so I just made a guess.

  13. Well, I'm pretty obsessed with the show (having watched every episode several times and written a paper about it in college), but I thought it was a good story.
