Shower

Heels sent me an e-mail the other day inviting me to her baby shower on the 8th. (Which I am going to be at.) And in the e-mail she wrote, "I know it's a long drive for you." Which it is, 3.5 to 4 hours is a long drive.

But last night I got to thinking, and I realized that for her (and Mr. Logic's) last baby shower I traveled over 2000 miles. Oh, sure, it happened to be a coincidence that the show was the same weekend I could visit them in Pittsburgh, but still, compared to that, this trip is nothing.

(It's on the 9th!!)

And yes, I was and have continued to be amazed that you visited us AT ALL in Pittsburgh, and it's still one of the more pleasant memories I have from that sweltering garbage heap. So thanks for that, too! I also may have died of lack of snark if you hadn't been at that particular shower, lovely as it was.

My bad, the 8th is when I'm leaving. (Thanks furlough days.)

I had fun visiting you guys, and that pastry shop was wonderful.

Oohhhh- did you have to remind me of that place? I LOVED that place. I tried to talk everybody into going there with me.

We did have fun. And how else would you have been able to say that you've witnessed an 8-month pregnant woman building her own rocking chair? THAT must be a gift that keeps on giving! ;)

Yes, I had to remind you. After watching old people watch porn it was my favorite place.

The thing that really got me about you building the chair was how adamant you were to not have any help from John or me.

Yay! I'm glad you will have something fun to do that weekend. You do know that Star Trek opens on the 8th, right? We leave on the 15th for Topsail Island, so I have to fit it in there myself somewhere.

As all semi-obsessive geeks, I have been mentally counting down the days to the new Star Trek and my original plan for that weekend was to take the 8th as a furlough day so I could be at the midnight show. Now my plans have moved to heading up to Cowtown and getting to the theater on Friday or Saturday.
