- Someone with whom to learn to dance.
- Semi-regular sex. (2 times a week is all I'm asking.) (Not to say that more wouldn't be welcome, but I don't want to be greedy.) (Hell, one time a week is more than I'm getting now, so I hope I wouldn't complain much.)
- Someone to walk with.
- A partner for Bridge and Spades.
- A pillow the smells like someone else.
- Someone who can discuss music, movies, plays, and such, with me.
- Someone to cook for and with.

A Few Reasons for a Significant Other

Wow. My brain was in this exact place when I was 22. I wanted someone to play games with, see a movie with and just talk to about stuff. Then I met my first husband and that was the end of that! Heh heh.
The Mooooo -- Just because one finds reasons to doesn't mean they outweigh the other stuff.
Geewits -- So, does that mean it's all a bust?
Heh, I've had a significant other for years and years and still haven't convinced him to learn to dance.
Jazz -- I think it's more the possibility than then actual doing.
Yeah- can you tell John how lucky he is to have a dance partner?!
It's nice to have someone who is consistently there. I almost always have a date to events when I want one, and I have someone who will wash the dishes after I cook and occasionally allow me to put my cold feet on him. But it's not easy. There have been a lot of bumps and we have to work at this every day. That's not to say that it's not worth it, but make sure you enjoy your uncomplicated time while you still have it. The more you enjoy being with yourself, the more interesting you'll be to others. Sometimes it's worth waiting for the really right person.
For now, I plan on having that "uncomplicated" time for as long as I live. The bumps weren't mentioned because bumps are not reasons for. Still, I'd like a full time partner for Bridge and a reason for another pillow on my bed.
and maybe you could even combine some of those things. I'll leave that up to you.
My pillow smells like the pooch... She's been sleeping on it while I was out.
Choochoo -- My pillow should still smell like me, it's the other pillow that shouldn't.
